In 1996 Roger Cleveland was hired as chief club designer and in 2002 they launched Callaway golf Forged Wedges, designed from carbon steel with modified U-grooved faces.

Over the years there have been many Callaway wedges that have stood out, Callaway’s most famous wedge is the Big Bertha, which features a double-barrel design and a very large clubface. The Big Bertha series of wedges has been altered over the years to include different materials for the clubhead, like stainless steel and titanium. The most recent addition to the series is the Big Bertha Fusion, which features a thermoplastic elastomer club head that has a more traditional feel.
