How We Grade Every Used Golf Club

Every club is inspected by hand when it arrives at our unit. The head, shaft and grip are each given their own score, so a club can have a 9/10 head and a 7/10 grip, and you’ll see both on the listing.

Grade What to expect from the head
10/10 Brand new Never used and never hit a ball. May or may not still be in its original wrapping.
9/10 Mint Hit one or two balls at most. Only the faintest signs of shop wear.
8/10 Very good Used for two or three rounds at most. Any marks are very minimal.
7/10 Good Shows normal play marks on the face and sole, but has clearly been well looked after.
6/10 Fair Our most common grade, as we rate modestly. Cosmetic wear from normal play, and woods may have small sky marks on the crown.
5/10 Well used Heavier signs of play, but always in good working order with no dents.
